Cupcakes in a Box

Cards in a Box are a very popular style of card these days that fit in a regular sized envelope when folded flat. When I saw the "create something yummy" challenge over at SUO Challenges I knew exactly what I wanted to make - Cupcakes in a Box! I used some retiring products along with some new to create this yummy card - Modern Medley DSP and the Create a Cupcake stamp set are both retiring at the end of the month. I used the newly released photopolymer stamp set "Endless Birthday Wishes" for the sentiment, and I used a variety of colors from my favorite color family (Brights) for the cupcakes.
Supplies Used:
Paper: Modern Medley DSP, Brights DSP, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
Punches: 1" square (to flag the ends of the Daffodil Delight), Cupcake Builder
Accessories: Melon Mambo 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

The Create a Cupcake stamp set is already sold out in clear mount but IS still available in wood mount at the time of this post so head on over to my online store before it too is gone!

Thanks for stopping by....now go enjoy a cupcake!

Ink: Basic Black, Baked Brown Sugar
Stamp Set: Sincere Salutations (retired)
Paper: Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Punches: 1" square punch, corner rounder punch, Heart to Heart Punch (retired)
Other: Sponge, SNAIL adhesive

April Paper Pumpkin

I have subscribed to Stampin' Up!'s monthly craft kits for several months now and April's kit was something very unique - a cute 4 x 4 vanilla frame and all the supplies to make a card, gift tag, and a belly band to wrap around the frame if you were gifting it! I followed the directions and made the framed image as instructed but then I "went out on my own" and used the leftover supplies to make 3 additional cards...and I STILL have supplies leftover! Here is the picture frame:
Three stamps were included with the kit (including a Happy Mother's Day stamp) as well as 2 ink spots in Coastal Cabana and Pear Pizzazz, glue dots, 10 whisper white tags, 2 buttons, linen thread, cotton ribbon, and more. Since I wasn't parting with my frame I cut the Coastal Cabana belly band and used it on my cards. The Calypso Coral card bases were from my own cardstock. The "For You" stamp came with the April kit, the "hey there friend" stamp was from my very first Paper Pumpkin kit!

Stampin' Up! now offers prepaid subscriptions for My Paper Pumpkin which make great gifts for someone you love (including yourself!). Check out my online store for more details!

Check back tomorrow for the third card I created using My Paper Pumpkin goodies!

Burlap and Blooms Wreath

Well another long weekend is winding down - they always zip by too quick! I finally got my glue gun out and finished off my Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath that I got in one of my last orders. For $22.95 (Canadian) you get everything you need (minus the adhesive) to complete this adorable spring wreath! It was super fun to create and is a nice addition to my front door!
I discovered after I finished wrapping the burlap around the chipboard ring that I went counterclockwise whereas the picture in the catalogue shows it wrapped the other way! Oh well - it still turned out great!

The Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit can be found in the Celebrate the Everday spring catalogue that runs until June 1. Head over to my online store to get yours today!

New Catalogue is Coming!

Last Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of attending a Stampin' Up launch party which was held at a local movie theater here in Calgary. There, about 200 demonstrators got sneak peeks from the upcoming annual catalogue coming out next month and some lucky ladies even won stamp sets and the new in color paper and ink! Here is the much anticipated new catalogue cover. It is jam packed with tons of photos to inspire, new stamp sets, framelits, ribbon, and SO much more! It is a GREAT time to be a demonstrator!

Would you like to get your hands on some new product? Contact me to book a workshop for you and your friends or join me for a monthly stamp club!

Swap card & SUO Challenge #95 entry

Last night I had the thrill of attending my first Stampin' Up event which was the unveiling of the new annual catalogue coming out June 1! I had a blast getting together with other demonstrators in a movie theater here in Calgary to see all the new goodies the new catalogue will bring - and trust me, it is PACKED with awesome new stamp sets, framelits, punches, ribbon, and those new In Colors.....sigh. I am thinking the UPS trucks will be making lots of deliveries to Stampin' Up demonstrators in the coming weeks!

I made a few swaps to share with other demonstrators. Here is the card I made which technically does include a flower so I am entering it for the SUO Challenge #95 as well!
Lots of punching involved and very little stamping as you can see! The sentiment is from the set For the Birds. The flower is from the Itty Bitties Punch Pack which is retiring by the end of this month or while supplies last. The DSP is from my Brights DSP pack. Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil delight are the colors featured.
