Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peek!

I am loving the large sentiment stamps that Stampin' Up! has created lately including Botanicals For You available during Sale-A-Bration (SAB) 2016. You can choose this stamp set for free when you place an order of $60 Canadian (before taxes and shipping) between January 5, 2016, and March 31, 2016, AND you can choose between wood-mount OR clear-mount! As a demonstrator we have had the opportunity to preorder from the new catalogue and earn SAB items too!

I used some of this year's new In-Colours (2015-2017) including Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, and Tip Top Taupe along with some Go Wild DSP in the background and Cherry On Top Washi Tape along the edge. A couple Rhinestone Basic Jewels add just a little bit of sparkle and dimension. I was inspired by a card by SU Artisan Amy O'Neill.

Have you got plans for New Year's Eve? It will be an early night for me as I am working New Year's Day as well as on the weekend at my "regular" job. I think it will be a perfect night to curl up with my new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues and plan my next order! Both will be available to order from on January 5. It's a Beautiful Ride

Today's card features a sneak peek from a new stamp set coming out in the new Occasions Catalogue on January 5 called Beautiful Ride. I just love the old fashion punch buggy in this set! It has the perfect sentiments and images to create a wedding card, a "we've moved" card, or maybe a card for a new college graduate setting off on their own for the first time. This adorable stamp set was in our welcome bag at the OnStage Local event I attended last month!

There's lots of watercolouring done on Shimmery White paper for this cute card. Don't recognize that polka-dotted paper? It's actually from the Go Wild DSP stack - I just coloured the white dots with Soft Sky and Calypso Coral using my Blender Pen!

The 2016 Occasions Catalogue goes live on January 5, 2016, and runs until May 31, 2016. If you would like a copy of the catalgoue and don't already have a demonstrator, just send me a message and I will gladly get one off to you!

Snow Place Swap for OnStage Local

Last month I attended a Stampin' Up! event in Edmonton. It used to be that Stampin' Up! would hold conventions for each market - for the North American market this would always take place in Salt Lake City in July, the South Pacific conference was held at a different time of the year, etc. Now that SU has become a global company with markets in ten countries, they wanted to leverage this exciting worldwide growth. Their new OnStage events will be held in April and in November and will allow demonstrators to gather simultaneously around the world to share the excitement of new catalogue releases, recognize achievements, receive training, and feel a part of a larger, global SU community. There were 2 events held in Canada - one in Mississauga and one in Edmonton. It was a 1-day event and it truly felt like a mini convention. The stars of the show, of course, were the new upcoming Sale-A-Bration catalogue and new Spring Occasions Catalogue. They spoiled us (as they always do!) with free stamp sets, prize patrols, and chances to play with new products.Swapping is always a fun event amongst demonstrators where you get to share ideas and meet new friends! I used the adorable Snow Place stamp set to create this swap:

I had the idea for this card in my head for a while and was so pleased when it translated onto paper exactly how I had pictured it! I used the Ovals Framelits to make my igloo after embossing my Whisper White paper with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. The black oval for the igloo "doorway" was just punched out of Basic Black with the Large Oval Punch, and I sponged the edges with white craft ink. Lots of other supplies were used...if you have questions feel free to ask and I would be more than happy to explain further!

I am very happy to say that the Snow Way stamp set and coordinating framelits will be sticking around after the end of the 2015 Holiday Catalogue! Time just went too quickly, and I did not get to play with this bundle enough this holiday season.

Cozy Christmas

I just love the little cabin in the woods from the set Cozy Christmas!  With Santa and his sleigh flying overhead in the night sky, it just sets the perfect little scene!

I used Night of Navy to stamp the images after sponging the sky first with Soft Sky, then the top 2/3 of the paper with Marina Mist, then the top 1/3 with Night of Navy to give a nice graduated night sky colour. I punched out a 1" circle on a post it note to use as a mask for a moon before spongin. I am so thankful that the Hearth & Home Thinlits will be sticking around after the current holiday catalogue retires -I love coming up with new scenes to "see" out the window; the possibilities are endless! The bow made of Real Red Striped Ribbon (discounted right now on the year-end clearance sale!) gives the little pop of colour it needs to finish it off while still making this card mailable. I mimicked snow glistening in the moonlight on the rooftop and trees with some Dazzling Details. I CASEd this card from fellow demonstrator Deb Valder - you can see her original card here.

Stampin' Up! has been overwhelmed with how popular this folder has been with it's release in the 2015 Holiday Catalogue, and it will be brought out of retirement and put in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue! Sweet Snowmen

I just love the stamp set Snow Place on page 33 of the holiday catalogue! The matching Snow Friends Framelit Dies are a must, and you can bundle and save 15% off when you purchase them together! Who doesn't love a deal, right?! I made a few Christmas cards with this fun set after CASEing Artisan Amy O'Neill.

I didn't change much from Amy's adorable original except I left off the sequins and decided to layer mine on a card base of either Pool Party or Real Red. The little bit of shine from the red foil paper really adds some sparkle to these cuties. The snowflakes in the background were heat embossed after I sponged some Pool Party ink on my Whisper White paper. Lots of steps to these seemingly simple cards, but I think the overall result was worth it! I can't decide which colour card base I like better - what's your pick?


I need to get these snowmen in the mail - I can't believe Christmas is less than 3 weeks away!
